Heart disease - A plant based diet is proven to decrease risk

  • sciencedirect - Plant-based diets decrease the risk of heart disease, hypertension, diabetes, obesity, and certain forms of cancer making them healthy for people in all stages of life.

  • ncbi - In a study of almost 500,000 people who were evaluated with four validated metrics, there were 86,000 deaths over a 15-year period. Those who ate closer to a plant-based diet had a 12-28% decrease in risk for cardiovascular, cancer and all-cause mortality.

  • pubmed - In the largest trial on diabetes and nutrition to date, when the diets of 200,000 men and women were monitored over a 20 year period in a combination of 3 studies, those who followed a plant-based diet had 34% less chance of developing type 2 diabetes.
